The Alpha

First, I want to say that this blog is strictly for photography, or at least attempted photography. I am by no means a professional photographer but I like taking pictures when I can and plan to keep learning and growing. Feel free to leave comments and/or suggestions.

My first entry is the first collection from a trip I took down River Rd. For this trip I started at Gardere and took River Rd. down to Gramercy.

Rides down River Rd. #1
I thought this was an awesome shrine for a very young man.

Cool rusted tin sign.

Old LSU trailer.

I just like the colors in this one. Especially the red and yellow fire hydrant.

Another red hydrant and St. Gabriel Catholic Church, built in the 1770's.

Rusty ole Chevy pick-up.

Red doors are always cool.

Friendship on the levee.

Pineapples = Hospitality

Bocage Plantation.

Spent time walking through the gardens at Houmas House.

So serious.

Ancient Archery.

Overflowing with Southern Hospitality.

I liked the colors in this one and that damn dragonfly finally stopped moving.

Strolling through the gardens.

Another stubborn dragonfly.

Table Talk.

Strength in Sadness.

Monster Oak.

One of my favorites. Ironically, I found this guy in "The Secret Garden".

My second visit to Houmas House.

Another of my favorites. I love everything about this picture.

St. Mary's Chapel on River Rd.

The Oaks of St. Jospeh. Undoubtedly one of the most peaceful and spiritual places I've ever been.

In John Deere Green.

Lost in The Oaks.

St. Joseph's on River Rd.

Something cool about railroads.

And trains...
